Celebrating Irish Spirit in Moncton’s Senior Community

At Golden Terraces Seniors Co-op Housing, holidays are more than decorations — they’re moments that bring us together. One of our favourite celebrations is St. Patrick’s Day, a cheerful tradition filled with fun, colour, and connection.

Each March, our residents gather to enjoy the spirit of the Irish. The common areas are transformed with green streamers, shamrocks, and festive centrepieces. Seniors dress up, wear their best green outfits, and participate in themed games, music, and snacks. Whether it’s Irish tunes playing in the lounge or a shared meal around decorated tables, this celebration fills our co-op with laughter and warmth.

A Tradition That Builds Community

These events aren’t just about fun — they’re about connection. Many residents look forward to the opportunity to socialize, meet new neighbours, and create lasting memories. Volunteers within our building often help organize these gatherings, ensuring that everyone feels welcome.

The inclusive nature of these celebrations helps reinforce our co-operative values. Everyone has a role, and every moment is shared. At Golden Terraces, we know that staying socially active supports emotional and physical well-being — especially for seniors.
